Day 21: Spontaneous Yoga.
Welcome to day 21 of this mindfulness Advent calendar. Today I’d like you to choose a calm song that helps you reconnect with yourself. I usually choose some classical music, something from Ludovico Einaudi for example, but just go with whatever has a calming effect on you. Close your eyes and listen to the music mindfully. Don’t move until you get an impulse from your body, and let your body intelligence guide you. Maybe you’ll stand still during the whole song, maybe you’ll end up laying on the floor, maybe you’ll stretch, dance, jump – stay open for anything and try not to interfere with your thinking mind. Thoughts will come and go, but you can just watch them, let them go and then go back to wherever your intuition is taking you.
How are you feeling now? This beautiful exercise is also called spontaneous yoga and it reminds us of going with the flow of life without controlling everything.
I wish you a lovely 21th of December and will be back with more mindfulness tomorrow.
Advent season is supposed to prepare us for Christmas and bring calm, light, and joy to the dark winter days. However, December is one of the busiest months for most people and it seems almost impossible to find some rest. That’s why Heartbridges Writings has created this mindfulness Advent calendar. You will find a daily post with a picture and a suggestion for a small exercise, that should grant you a moment of calm even on the most stressful day. For more information check out my first post on the calendar.
