Day 17: Mindful Memories.
Welcome to day 17 of this mindfulness Advent calendar. I would like you to pause whatever you’re doing right now for one minute, close your eyes, and go back in time to one of your favourite memories. Choose something you actually like to remember, not something that comes along with a feeling of bitterness or sadness. Stay connected to yourself and mindful while the memory plays in your head, just like you’re sitting in the cinema, watching the movie and still feeling your body, your own presence.
How are you feeling now? It sometimes happens that we get completely lost in memories, which can cause a feeling of being disconnected when we “come back”. Remembering things mindfully is an amazing way to relive our beautiful memories and cultivating gratitude at the same time.
I wish you a lovely 17th of December and will be back with more mindfulness tomorrow.
Advent season is supposed to prepare us for Christmas and bring calm, light, and joy to the dark winter days. However, December is one of the busiest months for most people and it seems almost impossible to find some rest. That’s why Heartbridges Writings has created this mindfulness Advent calendar. You will find a daily post with a picture and a suggestion for a small exercise, that should grant you a moment of calm even on the most stressful day. For more information check out my first post on the calendar.
