Day 13: Mindful Kindness – For Ourselves.
Welcome to day 13 of this mindfulness Advent calendar. Yesterday you did something kind for someone else – how beautiful! Today I’d like you to do the same, just that you will be the receiver of your own kindness. Choose something small or big that will feel really good and do it just for the mere sake of it. It can be a well deserved coffee break, a walk in nature, a lovely meal (self-cooked or in your favourite restaurant), or making time for a phone call with one of our friends. Maybe you’re even up for a massage or a day at the Spa. Choose anything that is possible and comfortable for you and stay mindfully with the experience of being kind to yourself. How does it feel to pay attention to your own needs and treat yourself nicely?
How are you feeling now? As amazing as it is to be kind to others, true love grows within and starts with ourselves. Many of us still are still stuck with that old, unconscious belief that we’re not really worthy of (self-)love, and it’s definitely time to get rid of that! You deserve it – simply for being who you are.
