Day 1: Just breathe.
Welcome to day 1 of this mindfulness Advent calendar. Today I would like you to open up the window or step outside and take five deep breaths. Stop everything, no matter how busy you are; I’m sure you can take this tiny time-out. Feel the cold air in your nostrils and in your throat, notice how your belly rises up and down with every breath and how your lungs expand. Stay present with the experience rather than thinking about it.
How are you feeling now? As simple and small this exercise may seem, it’s an effective way to create some space in our busy minds. If you liked it, feel free to repeat it as many times you want.
